In french, Numérique, means digital. A name chosen, because this compilation series gather all the Celluloide tracks that were digitally (ie mp3) released... Though actually, CD releases are as digital as an mp3 could be.
The choice of representing an (electronic) analog instrument was then obvious and logical (?).
The very vintage, and distinctive knobs from the Korg MS 10/20 and Roland TR303/606 series were selected for their black/white contrasts. Numériques (1) will be the black, and Numériques (2) the white faces of the same project.
Photos of the instruments were then recomposed with a pseudo binary (/digital) system, with only two colours and different sizes of straight lines, in the manner of some Vasarély kinoptics works.
